We went to the Cubs game tonight. It was my first game in just about 18 months.

It was the same old place.

Sure it was spiffed up here and there. The hot dogs carts have new signs on them like "Hey Hey Hot Dogs" or something like that, but it was essentially a coat of paint on an old house. And of course, the team still sucks.

But we had a great time out there with Ella's buddy, J's, parents. We failed to mention to Miss Ella where we were going and as our luck would have it, the babysitter told her. Not like we thought well enough ahead to tip off the babysitter either! She was a tad upset that we went without her.

Gotta say that it felt like I didn't miss a thing in my 2006 boycott of Wrigley. But like I said, not much has changed.
