Collabs
You get two collab responses for the price of one today! Can you tell I'm avoiding work?

we have brains:
Who are the top 5 feminist boys/men you love? And why?

1)The hubby. He may not call himself a feminist (at least to my face) but time & again he rises to the challenge of not only defending women's rights, but staying in our relationship. Think I'm hard to handle online? Imagine living with me.

2)Bob Fertik. He not only works in the feminist community, but he's also very supportive of emerging leaders. He started Women Leaders Online waaaay back in 1995. Somehow I got hooked into them at the beginning and thus began my online activist life. Plus who cannot love a man who says that he'll run my Senate campaign?

3) My father: Again, another man who wouldn't say he is a feminist, but when the shit hits the fan, he is. Most of the time. I ponder how much of one he'd be if I had a big brother, but I don't. Instead my dad taught me to play ball, how to keep score, and that I should stand up for myself. I'm sure he wishes some days that he didn't teach me that - especially days when I use it against him.

You know, this is my collab topic and I can barely think of three. For more historical men we love, visit Sunshine.

witches weekly:
Do you have an altar/shrine?
I do have an altar. It's on our bookcase with all our picture frames. In a way, I believe the whole bookcase to be a shrine to our life.

If you do, what objects do you have placed on it and are any of them homemade or natural objects (ex: feathers, rocks, crystals)?
It's a plate that belonged to my maternal grandmother. My connection to it is that she use to suck on her cough drop and then place it there until she needed it again. She use to do that to her vitamins as well. It always makes me laugh. On top is a candle and a goddess candle holder. Occasionally I'll put other things on it like photos, straw witch, or something I found outside.

How do you feel when you are settled at your altar/shrine (or area)?
At peace. I don't do it enough, but when I center myself and stand in front of my altar, I'm at more peace than almost anywhere in the world. I can feel the energy of the goddess flow thru me. I can hear all the things that my inner self has been trying to tell me, but has gotten drowned out by other life noises.
