I tried really hard not to get too worked up over the start of the Cubs season. I tried not to imagine the Cubs running onto the field after winning the World Series. I tried not to imagine Greg Maddux outsmarting every batter.

A 1-2 start will bring ya back to reality.

A lot of things happened to my team over the offseason. Some good, some not so good. As idealistic as I am and as much as I try to live by ethics, when it comes to the Cubs, logic jumps out the window. Jonathon put it best: "I'd rather be a hypocrite than miss out on this season."

So tonight we'll go into Atlanta and try to win this series. I need to do what the guys are doing - focus on each series, game by game. That's the only way we're going all the way this year.
