Girls Night Out
Friday I was spoiled by
Cinnamon on our girls night out. We met at
Rhapsody for a yummy dinner. Before hand we exchanged Buffy tapes and I gave her copies of pics that the hubby snapped the night we met Dar Williams. In turn, Cinnamon gave me a cute lil handbook for first time mommies. It's illustrated with the same type of cartoons that the Dept of Homeland Defense uses. How funny! She also gave Paris a lil t-shirt that says PANDA. Aw.....
After a yummy dinner, we headed upstairs to catch
Medeski, Martin, and Wood, a weird jazz group. Before the show started we read their bio in the program and it says they've played with Beck and other kewl alt groups & singers. As Cinnamon said, "How'd we miss this?"
I dunno, but MMW aren't to be missed. You can sample their music on their website and it really is just a sample. They love to jam and in their almost 2 hours of playing, I don't think they all stopped at once. 2 straight hours of really nifty, modern/post-modern(?) jazz.
After upping my kewl factor, we headed back to Rhapsody for a dessert to die for. It was getting late, so instead of calling on the boys to pick us up, we jumped in a cab.
Now, Cinnamon was a dear. She wouldn't even let me buy her dessert! I came home all relaxed and told the hubby it was better than a birthday. And it was. Thanks Cinnamon!
