Bush Cultural Advisers Quit Over Iraq Museum Theft

I'd be happier if I thought their actions would make an ounce of difference. Me thinks that the administration will shrug, take their work IDs, escort them out, and signal for someone else to sit in their spot. They don't care. We didn't even send troops to protect hospitals from being looted. For fucking gawds sake, if you're going to bomb the people you are liberating, you gotta save the fucking hospitals!

Speaking of hospitals...yesterday the Sun-Times' cover story was on a doctor who is going to Iraq to help out. The funny thing is that Kat & I saw a story on him on CBS Monday night. He was talking about his experience at Cook County Hospital and how the fact that Iraqi hospitals don't have beds won't be too much of a shock for him, BECAUSE he worked at County. How's that for a good PR moment for County? Kat just laughed and asked if it was true. I shrugged and said, pretty much so. Of course, that didn't help in my futile efforts to convince her to come to Chicago for med school.
